Top Reasons Kids get DQ'd
There will be officials and stroke and turn judges at the meet. There will very likely be disqualifications for swimmers. This is very common and nothing that should upset young swimmers. Coaches will work with kids on technique all summer long.
Freestyle
1. Advancing using the bottom, wall or lane lines
Breast
1. Scissor or Flutter kick
2. Hands past hipline after pullout
3. 1 hand or non-simultaneous touch at turn or finish
Back
1. Not on back at finish
2. Pausing or Multiple strokes during turn
Fly
1. Flutter kick
